CANBY, OR -- EMS firm Screaming Circuits has introduced an online PCB layout quoting tool said to simplify prototype development and sourcing.

The online layout quote calculator asks for the number of components, nets and nodes, and then provides an immediate quote for board layout. Orders can be then be placed via a single keystroke with Screaming Circuits.

The quote and order form, standard terms and conditions for layout services, and a detailed Q&A on layout services are located at http://layout.screamingcircuits.com.

“Design engineering is one of the most overworked functions in any company, said Duane Benson, Screaming Circuits’ marketing manager. "Our customer surveys continually tell us that design engineers see the front-end ordering process for layout and prototyping as non-value added activity that takes them away from far more important product development duties. For that reason, we continually work to streamline our quoting and ordering processes, as well as reduce delivery turn times.”

The service is designed for typical layout jobs, and provides all the files needed to fabricate PCBs. To further streamline the prototype process, once the layout files are complete and customer-approved, Screaming Circuits can send the files directly to Sunstone Circuits for fabrication and then receive boards back at Screaming Circuits for assembly.
