MINNEAPOLIS – CyberOptics will lay off 24 employees and consolidate
manufacturing in Minneapolis, the company said. The OEM, which makes inspection equipment and components, will also reduce its US manufacturing labor to a four-day workweek. Employees will also see salaries cut up to 12%, depending on their compensation level and title, the company said. All officer and internal directors will see salaries cut 12%, while other employees with salaries exceeding $100,000 will take a 10% pay cut. Those making between $35,000 and $100,000 will see their pay reduced up to 10%. Over the next three months, the company will move its semiconductor-related manufacturing operations from Portland, OR, to Minneapolis. Also, the company said vice president-operations Michael Proulx has resigned, effective May 29.
