| Report: Flextronics Layoffs to Hit China |

SAN JOSE -- Flextronics will lay off up to 30% of its staff in Beijing, according to local media reports.
The EMS company will also close its Beijing R&D center, China Tech News today reported, quoting an unnamed company source. The source also indicated a second, larger round of layoffs would take place in the first quarter of 2009, China Tech News reported.It is unclear how many employees would be affected by the Beijing layoffs.
