| 300 Companies Join China Electronics Alliance |

SHENZHEN – Foxconn, Huawei, ZTE and more than 300 other companies have formed a local electronics manufacturing alliance, offering preferential policies for its members. It is unclear whether the preferences run afoul of WTO or other trade laws.
The alliance will labor to create an industry standard, a unified catalog, and a quality control procedure to push and test the technology innovation of the industry, says Wang Dianfu, deputy director of the China Electronics Enterprise Association. Members also will use a standard logo. The alliance released a statement promoting the entire industry’s achievement of quality-focused and technology innovation and endorsement of product manufacturing techniques. China's electronics manufacturing market is worth some $58.2 billion annually, and the industry could slash more than $41.6 billion in costs annually if upgraded, the First China Electronics Manufacturing Technics Innovation Summit Forum reported.
