HONG KONG -- Local courts in two countries have approved creditors' plans for the restructuring of Surface Mount Technology (Holdings) Ltd., the company said today.
The High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Supreme Court of Bermuda last week each sanctioned the respective creditors' scheme. Accordingly, the creditors' scheme will become effective following the filing of the plan with the local registrars. Once a Top 50 contract electronics assembler, SMT Holdings has seen its revenues plummet over the past two years.
