| Hearing over Alleged AVX Site Contamination to Begin Today |

MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Passive components manufacturer AVX will stand trial this week over allegedly polluting local water supplies. A pair of real estate developers claim contamination from AVX killed a planned condominium project. AVX asserts some of the contamination could be from a now-defunct Air Force base. The trial is scheduled to start today. A previous lawsuit was settled a few days after the hearings began.
