APPLETON, WI — Plexus has laid off 116 employees here due to lower orders, a company spokesperson says. According to The Post-Crescent, senior vice president and chief financial officer Ginger Jones this week confirmed the layoffs. The cuts included an even mix of fulltime and temporary workers, the paper reported. The electronics manufacturing services firm employs about 2,000 workers in the area. Plexus, which on July 18 reported jumps in quarterly revenue and profits, operates several plants in Wisconsin, including two in Appleton.
