KEMPELE, FINLAND -- PKC today strongly rejected claims the EMS company was hindering attempts by its employees in Mexico to unionize.

The contract printed circuit board manufacturer has come under fire for reportedly refusing to negotiate with outside parties that were attempting to negotiate on the employees' behalf. PKC operates a major wiring harness facilities in Nogales, and is said to supply Daimler, Navistar, Continental, Ford and GM, among others.

In a written statement, PKC said, "In response to recent shareholder and media attention in Finland, PKC Group states that it has not, and is in no way restricting the rights of its employees in Mexico nor anywhere else in the world, including their rights of association. Furthermore, PKC Group is complying fully with the Mexican laws and norms as well as with the freedom of association imposed by International Labor Organization."

"The company takes the recent accusations very seriously and is open for dialogue with its employees, investors and media related to the matter," the statement read.
