OLATHE, KS -- Elecsys Corp. announced a net loss of $20,000 for the quarter ended April 30, up from a net loss of $70,000 last year. For its fiscal fourth quarter, the company reported sales of $4.67 million, up 14% from fiscal 2009. Operating income was $44,000, down from $71,000.
For the fiscal year ended April 30, sales were $17 million, down 22%. The net loss was $674,000, compared to net income of $677,000. The company cited the overall economic slowdown and delayed bookings for the drops. The company's electronics design and manufacturing segment's sales fell 15% to $9.9 million. The operating loss was $817,000 compared to operating income of $1.47 million in fiscal 2009. Gross margin was 28% of sales for the fourth quarter and 31% for the year.
