WASHINGTON, DC – China is gearing up for a January implementation of its version of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive, according to a posting last month by a federal agency employee on the leadfree.org listserv. Test methods and approved laboratories were cited, said Sieber, a research chemist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (nist.gov). Sieber suggested interested parties visit the Notify US Website run by NIST at http://tsapps.nist.gov/notifyus/data/about/about.cfm for more information.
