BRUSSELS – The European Commission today approved Flextronics International's planned purchase of Solectron Corp. for $3.6 billion in cash and stock.
In a review made public today, the E.U. competition watchdog said "the combined share of Flextronics and Solectron on the EMS (electronics manufacturing services) market, at both EEA (European Economic Area) and worldwide levels, would be limited." Flextronics has already gained U.S. antitrust approval.
