GUADALAJARA -- Solectron Corp. today announced an expansion of its Guadalajara facility, the company's largest plant in the Americas. The new capabilities include enclosures services and design and engineering.

The expansion is one of Solectron's largest in the region. The facility makes printed circuit board assemblies and enclosures, and provides system integration and design and engineering services.   

In a statement, Marc Onetto, executive vice president of worldwide operations, said, "Guadalajara will continue to play a critical role in our strategic global expansion plans. ... [T]he geographic position of Guadalajara bordering the largest electronics market in the world creates a compelling supply chain solution for our customers."
