APPENZELL, SWITZERLAND -- KUK Electronic could open an electronics assembly plant in Sri Lanka, according to the national Board of Investment, a development agency.

The maker of coils and electronics assemblies reportedly sees Sri Lanka as a potential export center.

KUK Electronic was established in 1990 in Appenzell and today operates production facilities in Switzerland, China, Slovakia and France. It employs more than 440 workers worldwide, who produce 1 million printed circuit boards annually.
