BEIJING – Xiaomi has opened three new smartphone manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, as well as a facility for PCB manufacturing, doubling its manufacturing capacity in India, according to reports.

The company reportedly can now manufacture two phones per second at these locations. The sites employ more than 10,000 people.

Xiaomi is also opening a PCB assembly unit in Sriperumbudur with Foxconn, say reports.

No financial terms were disclosed.
