HONG KONG -- The 2017 International Printed Circuit & Apex South China Fair opened this week in Shenzhen The event, which runs Dec. 6-8, is one of the largest PCB & trade shows outside Japan, pulling exhibitors and attendees from around the world.

The show theme this year is Global Wisdom. Local Presence. A record number of exhibitors -- almost 550 in all -- are filling over 2,600 booths across more than 52,500 sq.m. of the show floor space in the at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.

HKPCA chairman Canice Chung noted the growth in his remarks at the opening ceremony. “In the past five years, we have seen the number of exhibitors grow at a CAGR of 6.6%. The number of booths and the volume of exhibition space have both been increasing significantly in the same direction.”

John Mitchell, president and CEO of IPC, described the show as a strong trading platform with abundant business opportunities. “The show floor is packed with new technologies, equipment, materials and supplies that can unlock the solutions to your manufacturing challenges. I am confident that at this year’s show you’ll find suppliers that can help you save time and money and foster new business opportunities.”

The HKPCA & IPC Show displays the most advanced technology complemented by a selection of onsite events for visitors to the show. Among numerous educational and networking opportunities, the International Technical Conference offers presentations from leading industry experts. The well-established IPC China PCB Design Seminar and the challenging IPC China PCB Design Competition will also return as part of the event’s program.

New at the show is the Hong Kong Pavilion, co-organized by the Hong Kong Productivity Council with financial support from the BUD Fund, which showcases PCB or semiconductor products and advanced technology in four different product categories: communication, computers, consumer electronics and automobiles. It highlights Hong Kong’s pivotal role in setting new standards and directions for the PCB industry.
