GEORGE TOWN, MALAYSIA --Vitrox plans to spend more than $30 million to upgrade capacity for producing inspection and test equipment.

Company officials are citing higher demand for automotive and telecom electronics for the new capital investments, which will begin this year and could extend through 2018.

Vitrox shipped 1,036 machine vision system products and 18 machine vision tray handlers in the first half of this year, including 106 AOI and AXI machines, according to published reports.
